Encrypted tab sync · Ready in a minute

Syncs everything. Sees nothing.

Leave your desk mid-article — it's already open on the couch. Lidless makes all your computers feel like one browser. Automatic, instant, encrypted.

For Chrome & Firefox on desktop

See it sync

Every device. Always in sync.

A unified browser experience.

The honest part

What we can — and can't — see.

Most sync tools ask you to trust a promise. Lidless is built so it doesn't need one: your tabs are locked with a key that only you hold.

Never leaves your device

What we can't see

  • Your tabs — the URLs, titles, and order you sync
  • Your browsing history or which sites you visit
  • Your master password — it never reaches us, even during sign-in

Everything is encrypted on your device before it leaves. What reaches us is locked — and we don't have the key.

In the clear, and only if you opt in

What we do store

  • Scrambled blobs — the encrypted version of your tabs, which we have no key to open
  • Your email — only if you choose to create an account

Accounts are optional; Lidless syncs fine without one. Full privacy policy →

How it works

Three steps. About a minute.

01

Generate a key

On your first device, Lidless mints a private sync key. It's yours — back it up; it's the only thing that can read your tabs.

02

Pair a device

Add another browser with a short pairing code or a setup link that never touches our servers. The same key, everywhere.

03

Your tabs follow

Open something on your laptop, find it on your desktop — already there, right where you left it. Close it once, it's closed everywhere.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need an account?

No. Lidless syncs with just its private key — install, pair, done. An account is optional: it adds password sign-in and key recovery. You can add one later without starting over.

Can you see what I'm browsing?

No. Your tabs are encrypted on your device before they leave it, and only your devices hold the key. The details are in what we can — and can't — see.

What if I lose my sync key?

Your tabs are never lost — they're still right there in each browser. With an account and your recovery code, you can restore access; without one, you generate a fresh key and pair your devices again in a minute.

Which browsers does it work with?

Chrome and Firefox on desktop today. More to follow.

Is it really free?

Yes — Lidless is free while in early access. If that ever changes, we'll say so clearly ahead of time.
